Three little 5 x7 paintings all in a row -- on eBay this week to usher in September, when suddenly it starts to seem a little less weird to the average person that I have ghosts and pumpkins all over my clothes. Ahh, the best two months of the year. I watched Blood from the Mummy's Tomb while I finished these up and made progress on a large, 12 x 24 piece.
I can't really tell whether people in general like big or large art better. I've had commissions for pieces as big as 3 x 4 feet -- they would have been larger, but there was no earthly way to ship them unless they were picked up in person, if they were any larger. I have a hard time scaling things down to something 5 x 7 inches, but on the other hands it can be hard to fill up all those large spaces in the big paintings. I think that I'll always like 9 x 12 the best...just big enough to balance on your lap while you watch monster movies.
You can't go wrong with cats wearing witch hats! I like how they are eyeing each other.
ReplyDeleteIn real life they'd start to smack each other after a couple of minutes and then go back to staring. :)
